Philip Rutkowski is a Ph.D. student of Chemistry at UCLA, living in Los Angeles, originally from NYC and proud of it, 27, vegan, a computer programmer, a musician, listening to industrial, synthpop, and new wave, wishing that Star Trek would be a reality, a revolutionary revolutionary, obsessed with 80's pop culture, always looking for projects to start, XHTML compliant, in love with his LAMP setup, missing his family, friends, and cats in NY, born on Halloween, wondering what else he should tell you about himself, looking for new friends in LA that will go out with him to industrial clubs, in love with video games, registered Green and proud that he voted and will vote for Ralph Nader, liking the new layout of his site, neat, minimalist.

| RESUME |
OK, here's the deal. I'm not looking for a job. But I am a graduate student which means I'm poor. If you have a quick and decent paying programming job for me, I might be interested. I was a computer programmer in the industry for 3 years so I have a lot of experience. Right now, my resume is geared towards web/database programming. Hopefully, I'll be able to change it to Chemistry over the next couple years as I get more experience.

| PROJECTS |
Satellite Lost - http://www.satellitelost.com - This was a short-lived band that I was in from September 2003 to July 2004. Our music resembled (at least to me) The Cure, Sunny Day Real Estate, Antarctica, and Cradle of Filth. I designed the website, the CD, and all of our merch. I sang and guitared. We have two CDs released - a 6 song EP and a full length. Give us a listen.
The Cotton Weary - http://www.thecottonweary.com - The Cotton Weary was the first serious band that I was in. We were based in Long Island and we had a TERRIBLE reputation there. We really didn't belong there. The music was good. It was slow and sad (but melodic). I played the Gretsch Silver Jet. I joined in January 2000 and we broke up in the winter of 2003. I designed the website too.
DIYRevolution.com - http://www.diyrevolution.com - In 2001, Jesse Zook Mann and I wanted to create a resource for independent artists, musicians, activists, writers and media groups to collaborate amongst each other. It was pretty successful for awhile and it was a lot of fun. I did all of the web and database programming in PHP and MySQL. Right now, this project is in limbo.
Space Fighter 2 - This was a video game that I was working on. Unfortunately, it was never finished. For awhile, I wanted to be a video game programmer. Actually... I still want to be a video game programmer. So, I started creating this video game for my resume. It was done in C++, OpenGL, and DirectX. It was going to be a mock of Street Fighter 2 for Super Nintendo except that it was in 3D and IN SPACE!!! Two spaceships would duel and try to blow each other up each round. Just like Street Fighter 2, they would have a time limit and 3 rounds. I was even planning to steal the sound sample from Street Fighter 2 at the beginning of each round. Round 1, Fight! Here are some screen shots. Keep in mind, these ships were designed with 10 bitmap images and hundreds of 3D coordinates. Top view of ship 1, Front view of ship 1, Top left view of ship 1, Bottom view of ship 1, Top view of ship 2, Front view of ship 2, Left view of ship 2, Right view of ship 2.
